United Christian Center was birthed in 1968 with the primary purpose of ministering to the U.S. Military personnel and their family members stationed in Okinawa, Japan. United came into being when two Baptist congregations joined together in the spirit of unity to form United Baptist Church.

Through the years United has undergone several name changes, leadership changes, and changes to facilities, location, service times and ministries offered.  United has also experienced changes to polity, structure, theology, denomination and organizational affiliation.  Through all of these changes and the constant fluctuation of membership due to military reassignments, God has and continues to bless the ministry of United.

In June of 2001, our current pastor, Bishop Terrence W. Carr assumed the role of Senior Pastor after having served as the assistant pastor of United for two years.  Under Bishop Carr’s Pastoral leadership this already strong and fruitful church began a new season of expansion, spiritual growth, and change as God used him to complete the transition of the traditional congregation to an Elder ruled, spirit-led body of believers. In June 2006 Bishop Carr retired from the U.S. Air Force and became United's first full-time pastor.

Over the years thousands have been touched by the Ministry of United Christian Center and we continue today with the mission to Impact Lives through love, relationships, and the word of God; Equipping and Empowering Saints for the work of the ministry.
